What Does Daayum Mean?

I’m Daayum Mohsin, a data analytics student with an interest in using data to understand complex systems and support better decision-making. This website acts as a portfolio of my analytical work, showcasing projects, reports, and visualisations developed throughout my studies and professional development.

“Daayum” comes from the Arabic word دائم (Dāʾim / Dayim), meaning enduring, continuous or everlasting, a reminder that good analysis and useful knowledge should stand the test of time.

My work focuses on applying data science and statistical methods to real-world datasets, transforming raw information into meaningful insights. I have experience working with tools such as Excel, Python, R, Power BI, and SQL, and I enjoy building analytical workflows that combine data cleaning, modelling, and visualisation.

Through academic projects and independent analysis, I explore topics ranging from machine learning and predictive modelling to performance, business, and economic data analysis. My goal is to continue improving my data storytelling and analytical communication, identifying meaningful insights and presenting analytical solutions that help senior stakeholders understand key trends and potential strategic pathways.

The video below highlights my experience as a Data Analyst Intern with Hamilton Ross Group through the Saltire Scholar programme. During the internship, I worked on real business data to support operational decision making and improve reporting processes. My work involved analysing datasets, building dashboards, and communicating insights that could help the organisation better understand performance trends and opportunities for improvement.
